The airline made the announcement in a statement released this week, describing the new service as a “milestone in enhancing connectivity between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.”
Operated using its wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft, the service promises a premium onboard experience while offering Nigeria’s most affordable fares to London yet — with round-trip tickets starting from just ₦1,000,000 and generous baggage allowances.
A First for a Nigerian Airline
With this move, Air Peace becomes the first Nigerian airline to connect Abuja directly with both of London's major international airports.
The new routes position Abuja as a powerful hub, allowing seamless through-booking for passengers across Air Peace’s Nigerian network — including cities like Lagos, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Kano, Owerri, Asaba, and more.
Travelers can now book a single ticket from any of Air Peace’s domestic destinations to London, avoiding the stress of multiple bookings or re-checking luggage. Those flying from the UK also gain access to multiple entry points across Nigeria without needing to transit through Lagos.
What This Means for Nigerians Abroad and At Home
For Nigerians in the diaspora — particularly students, business travellers, and the growing "Japa generation" — this is more than just another airline update. It offers:
- Increased flight options beyond Lagos
- Cost savings through competitive fares
- Easier connectivity for those visiting family or returning home
- An alternative to foreign carriers who dominate the Nigeria–UK corridor
As more Nigerians explore relocation, study, or business opportunities in the UK, direct access from Abuja is a major convenience — especially for those in northern or eastern Nigeria.
On social media and across migration forums, users have welcomed the announcement:
“Finally! I won’t need to take an 8-hour road trip to Lagos just to fly to London.”
“₦1 million for a round trip to the UK? That’s a game-changer in this economy.”
“I hope Air Peace keeps this up — it’s high time Nigerian airlines compete globally.”
Looking Ahead
Air Peace’s new offering isn’t just about flights. It’s part of a larger conversation about Africa-led solutions to Africa’s travel needs. For many Nigerians, it represents hope for better infrastructure, reliable service, and local empowerment in the aviation space.
