If you’re living or working in the UK on a visa, you may occasionally need to prove your immigration status—especially when dealing with employers, landlords, or other official bodies. Here’s a simple guide to help you download your digital status in PDF format, step-by-step.

Step-by-Step Guide to Access and Save Your Status

1. Visit the Official GOV.UK Portal

Head over to the UK government’s immigration status portal:
www.gov.uk/view-prove-immigration-status

2. Sign In with Your Details

To log in, you’ll need one of the following identifiers:
• Your Biometric Residence Permit #BRP number
• #Visa or application reference number
• Biometric Residence Card #BRC
• Details from your passport or travel document

Make sure you have access to the email or phone number you used when applying to the Home Office.

3. Generate a Share Code

Once logged in, you’ll see your visa type and rights (such as the right to work or rent).
Do the following:
• Click “Prove your status”
• Then click “Get a share code”

This code is what employers or landlords use to verify your status.

4. View & Download as PDF

After the share code is generated:
• Click “View the information the person you’re sharing with can see”
• Your immigration status details will be displayed
• Press Ctrl + P (Windows) or Cmd + P (Mac) to open the print dialog
• Under “Destination” or “Printer,” choose “Save as PDF”
• Click Save to download the file

Ready to Share

You can now attach the PDF file to emails or upload it as needed for job applications, accommodation, university enrolments, and more.
