If you’re planning to travel out of Nigeria—whether you’re a foreign national or a Nigerian with dual citizenship—you must complete an Exit Card within 72 hours of your departure.

This is a mandatory requirement enforced by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and failure to present one at the airport could delay or disrupt your travel plans.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get it done smoothly:

1. Visit the Official Portal

Go to lecard.immigration.gov.ng.
You’ll need to create an account to access the form and begin your application.

2. Choose Your Passport Type

Select whether you hold an ECOWAS passport or are using a passport from another country. This determines how your information is processed.

3. Enter Your Passport Number

Input your #passport number into the system. If your passport is already in the immigration database, your bio-data will automatically populate.
If not, don’t worry—you can still fill the form manually.

4. Complete Your Biodata

If your information wasn’t retrieved automatically, you’ll need to manually fill in your personal details, such as:
• Full name
• Date of birth
• Nationality
• Passport details

5. Provide Travel Information

You’ll be asked to include specific travel details such as:
• Flight number
• Departure date and time
• Destination country

Important: If you’ve overstayed your visa or entry period, you must make a payment before you can proceed.

6. Review & Submit

Carefully go through all the information you’ve entered.
Once everything is confirmed, click “Submit” to complete your Exit Card request.

7. Save or Print Your Exit Card

After submission, download or print your Exit Card. You will be asked to show it at the immigration checkpoint before leaving Nigeria.
