Her Royal Majesty, Olori Atuwatse III, Queen of the Warri Kingdom in Delta State, Nigeria, recently visited Atlanta as a distinguished guest of Georgia State Representative Kim Schofield.

Her visit aimed to foster stronger business and cultural connections between Nigeria and the African diaspora in the U.S.

During her time at the Georgia State Capitol, discussions centered on economic empowerment, trade opportunities, and initiatives to enhance travel between Nigeria and the U.S. A key focus was “solidarity economics”—a strategy to build Black wealth through global partnerships and cultural exchanges.

The Nigerian Consul General, based in Roswell, also participated in the discussions, addressing concerns about the visa application process and highlighting recent improvements to facilitate travel and business relations.

In recognition of her visit and efforts to strengthen international ties, Queen Atuwatse III and her delegation were honored with a resolution in the Georgia House and received official recognition in the Georgia Senate.

Her Majesty’s visit reflects a growing movement to bridge Africa and its diaspora, creating new opportunities for economic and cultural collaboration.
