President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria will undertake a State Visit to the United Kingdom next month following an invitation from King Charles III,

Buckingham Palace has confirmed.
The visit is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, 18 March to Thursday, 19 March 2026, with the President expected to be accompanied by First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

According to a statement released by The Royal Family, the King and Queen will formally host the Nigerian leader during the visit, which will be held at Windsor Castle.

State Visits represent the highest level of diplomatic engagement between countries and are typically marked by ceremonial events, bilateral discussions, and engagements aimed at strengthening long-standing relations.
Nigeria and the United Kingdom share deep historical, economic and diplomatic ties, with cooperation spanning trade, security, education and diaspora relations.

The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for discussions on areas of mutual interest, including investment, governance, climate issues and regional security.
