A UK-based Nigerian woman, Aishat Abiodun Waheed, has again come under scrutiny following allegations that she collected £10,000 from a fellow Nigerian with the promise of securing a UK healthcare Certificate of Sponsorship #CoS but failed to deliver the job or refund the money.
The matter was first reported in December 2025 after the victim, identified as Samuel Temitayo (name changed), said the money was paid to Waheed to facilitate #sponsorship for him and his wife. According to the report, several months passed without a CoS being issued or the funds returned, leading him to seek media intervention.
After the publication, Waheed reportedly signed a written repayment agreement on 12 December 2025, committing to refund the money in monthly instalments of £1,500, with the first payment scheduled for 31 December 2025. However, Temitayo later stated that the payment was not made.
He further alleged that instead of honouring the agreement, Waheed tied repayment to the removal of the published report, stating that she would only refund the money if the story was taken down. According to him, no payment or clear explanation was given on the agreed date, and he remains in debt, noting that the money paid was borrowed.
When contacted by journalists earlier, Waheed reportedly said she had already instructed the victim on what to do and maintained that the story was affecting her, adding that she would only proceed with repayment if it was removed.
As of the latest update, the repayment has not been confirmed, and the dispute remains unresolved.
Members are advised to exercise caution, verify all claims independently, and avoid making payments to intermediaries without clear documentation and verifiable guarantees.
