Form A Is Back! Nigerian Banks Resume Naira‑Card Payments For Foreign Tuition.

For thousands of Nigerian students planning to #japa or already studying abroad, good news has landed: Nigerian banks have resumed Form A transactions for paying international tuition and medical bills directly in foreign currency — and this time, at more competitive CBN-backed exchange rates.
After months of delays, rejections, and reliance on the expensive parallel market, banks like GTBank and Lotus Bank have reopened #FormA access for overseas payments, allowing customers to fund tuition directly from their naira accounts.
Form A is the Central Bank of Nigeria’s official platform that allows Nigerians to make foreign exchange payments for education, medicals, and other approved services. It provides access to FX at government-approved rates, which are often far better than black market rates.
For those planning to study in the UK, US, Canada, or Australia, this is a lifeline — especially when the japa dream was beginning to feel financially impossible due to the dollar-to-naira spike.
Important notice:
• Banks are now processing Form A within 4 working days.
• Students no longer need to source dollars at inflated black-market rates.
• FX availability is gradually improving, making international transactions more stable.
• More banks are expected to follow suit.
How to Apply for Form A Now
1. Register at: www.tradesystem.gov.ng
2. Select “Form A” → Choose Education Fees or Medical Expenses.
3. Upload:
• Admission letter
• Tuition invoice
• International passport
• Tax clearance (where required)
• Debit authorisation letter
4. Your bank processes the request and funds the payment at the official CBN exchange rate.
With the reopening of Form A services:
- Parents can fund tuition with less financial pressure
- Students avoid black-market FX struggles
- More people can pursue the japa dream without breaking the bank
